  • Migrating to new plugin

I am excited to see that the Click & Pledge plugin for Gravity Forms is now available in the Wordpress Repository for easy updating, https://wordpress.org/plugins/gravit...-click-pledge/! Is this plugin different from the previous one - I hope at least works with the current version of Gravity Forms?

How should I migrate from one to the other?

Is there any changes or updates to the new Click & Pledge plugin?

Is there any further documentation with the new plugin?

    Thank you!

    Good day!

We are currently experiencing a problem with the WordPress.org release as the site has changed the folder hierarchy. Currently the version on WordPress.org is the same version as the one on GitHub and the two will always be the same.

We will update the forum when the issue has been resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for the response. Is the version on both of them the one that works with the current version of Gravity Forms? Any advice on updating the plugin manually?

        Good day!

There was an issue with our WordPress.org deployment as the site changed our file hierarchy. We have resolved and released it today.

You have a valid question as to whether WordPress.org will upgrade the version that was originally installed manually through GitHub. We are in the process of removing all WordPress plugins from GitHub to avoid any future confusions. We are testing this but would like to know if you see an upgrade notice from WordPress?

The 2 versions that are on GitHub and WordPress are identical and no changes are made.

We are still testing how WordPress behaves.

          Good day!

We have done testing and have discussed this with another client that has gone through the transition. Here is the situation:

if an application has been installed through GitHub (being removed as of this writing) and upgraded through WordPress.org the previous installation will not be updated. Our test shows that WordPress.org removes (uninstalls) the previous and installs a new instance. Once installed all future releases will be upgrades & not re-installs.

We recommend that all settings are recorded prior to an upgrade through WordPress.org if the initial installation was through the GitHub.

We are now in the process of removing all WordPress applications from GitHub to ensure clients do not install through that medium

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you for the thorough follow up! I'm a bit confused what you mean by "WordPress.org the previous installation will not be updated?" On our website, there is the option to just upgrade automatically by clicking "update now" - should I do this? I am thinking that I should update the C&P plugin, then Gravity forms? Would you agree? We're looking to do the upgrade on Monday. Thanks again!

              Good day!

We have seen this issue with WooCommerce. If the GitHub installation is upgraded through WordPress the settings are wiped out. All the future updates don't reset the settings.

If you test this with the upgrade please make sure you know the settings, in case it is deleted. Love to hear about what you find out.

We have not tested this with GravityForm but just know the WooCommerce issue. Let us know how it goes. Definitely upgrade as we have removed the code from GitHub so that is no longer available and all future updates will be form WordPress.org

Please let us know so we can add that to the manual.

We are just double checking that all of the information passed through the system correctly, but I updated the C&P Plugin, then Gravity Forms and the setting stayed, I didn't have to reenter them. Then I tested and the transaction went through, then I updated Wordpress and all other plugins and tested again and it all seemed A-OK! I'll let you know once we confirm that all the data passed into C&P properly. Thank you!

Yes, everything worked properly! Thanks for taking care of this - it is a huge help for myself and the organizations that I work with! Is there any word about creating a more integrated method to using the plugin, opposed to having to use the hidden fields, similar to the Salesforce Plugin. Thanks!

                    Good day!

I am not sure I understand what you mean by "more integrated ... hidden fields... similar to Salesforce".

                    Please elaborate.

I've attached an example of how the Salesforce Web-to-Lead connects the form fields to fields (or I think they are called objects) in Salesforce. This method is a lot less confusing than using the hidden fields as we have to now.

Also, today we started experiencing delays on pages with forms (Donate, https://www.jcrcboston.org/donate/ and an Event page, https://www.jcrcboston.org/donate/) that are connected to Click & Pledge, and for example the Contact Us form which doesn't connect to C&P and the rest of the site load very quickly. Has anyone else been experiencing problems in the last couple days?

Any advice and help would be much appreciated!

                      Thank you!

                        Good day @CPDesigns,

I just viewed your page and noticed the delay with the form. Where is this form hosted? It seems like the host is slow to respond. Please note that until the form posts to us we are totally out of the picture. Your form is an API form and posts to us after the completion of the form. Is this on WordPress hosted site or is it locally hosted on your servers?

Thanks for the response. The site is hosted by Rackspace, and I'm trying to work with them - and your explanation makes sense, but it's just weird that the only pages that are really close are the forms that have a connection to Click & Pledge.

                            Good day!

Please note that there is really no connection between a site and us. There is simply a form action that once the submit button is clicked the data will post to the form action.

If the submit button is left alone nothing about Click & Pledge is even sensed by the form.

We use various site for stress testing and measuring load times of various elements on the page. For example:

see the element that is taking a long time to load:

It seems like the count.js is at the top of the page and as such that section is taking a long time to load and as such blanks the page.

Do you know what count.js is?

                              One observation.

Take a look at this section of your code:

Name:	2015-07-16_14-44-48.jpg

That CSS does not exist in any other page and is not found. Page link review shows that link is returning error.

That page takes a long time to load and is only on the payment page.

                              What is it?
                              Regards,
