  • Credit Card Payee Details instead of Donor Details being recorded in Salesforce

    Hello C&P Support,

A client of mine is using CiviCRM (Drupal Integration) to manage the donation page on their website. The donation page is located here - https://www.nastad.org/civicrm/contr...action=preview

The issue we are seeing is that when a donation is submitted, the details of the Credit Card Payee and not that of the donor are getting in to Salesforce. The contact that is created has the first and last name matching the first and last name in the credit card info section. How can we fix this? We want to make sure that the donation is connected to the donor contact who's details are in the "Name and Address" section of the form.

Hoping you can provide guidance on this ASAP. Thanks!

    Best Regards,
    Ronak.

Shows the same details as entered in the Credit Card Information Section. See attached file. The name of the donor was "RTest MTest" and the person on the credit card was "RTestBill MTestBill"

        Good day!

This is the CiviCRM posting to our API. We have to evaluate what they are posting. Please note that we simply post data to their nodes.

I will have our team review this and get back to you. I will have an answer for you by Monday.

            Good day @Ronak,

We have reviewed your form and see the issue you are reporting. There appears to be a misunderstanding here.. so let's go over it.

The API is simply interested in the payment information, namely the billing information. Anything else is a custom question.

In your case you have added the billing information below the credit card fields and have added first, last name, etc. above the credit card info. The Billing information is what posts to the API. Since you are not posting the other fields as custom fields they are being ignored.

The Billing Information as listed in First name, Last name, address is what posts to the API and finally to Salesforce.

Please use the billing information as the primary information. All else, if you are interested, post as custom fields.

            Hope that answers your question.

Thanks for the details. That makes sense. I've forwarded the instructions to the webmaster that is managing my client's site and am hoping they can fix this through CiviCRM. Just in case they need help, do you have instructions that will allow them to design the form in the manner you've described?

                Hi,

We've not be able to find a solution to this issue. There is no way to change the title of the "Billing Information" section and the corresponding fields to First Name, Last Name, etc. So when the donor enters the information, they're forced to enter the Billing information which might be different from the info of the donor. Can I request a phone call and screenshare with a CiviCRM expert from your staff to help get around this issue? This is becoming high priority.

                Thanks,
                Ronak

                  Good day @Ronak,

This is not something we have any control over. Drupal has a set design and fixed options.

At Click & Pledge we do not have any person that is a Drupal expert. We do not know Drupal - which could be a hard thing to imagine but our developers know the Drupal API and we have connected Drupal to our platform via their API. That is the extent of our knowledge of the platform. Each 3rd party platform is a world by itself and it is impossible to know these and all their internal functionality. We simply take the payment API and pass the fields they provide for processing with our gateway.

To move things around in the Drupal you need to change the core templates. Here is an article that may help: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/d...Page+Templates

Be aware that if you change the core template you will need to update it with each upgrade of the Drupal platform if the core files are over-written.

                  Hope that answers your question.
