  • Auctions for Salesforce & C&P - Auction purchases did not go through to C&P

We are using Salesforce for Auctions and Click & Pledge for our CC processor.
This tickets that were purchased on line through Click & Pledge worked, but any tickets and purchases at the event did not go through. I have receipts - but they don't say how they were paid for (cash, credit card or check). I also don't see any of the money in Click & Pledge.

      Patrick -

Could you provide a screenshot of your checkout page with the payment form where the credit card numbers were entered and provide an example of the receipts you reference? Auctions for Salesforce does have a way of issuing receipts- so we need to determine how your purchases were processed. If the transactions do not exist in Click & Pledge, then we'll need to fully understand what your users were doing.

OK, so Screenshot 1 - the Receipt you provided to your donors is one that is built into Auctions for Salesforce. The reason it says 'Paid' is because that's what the default template does, and you did not change it before the event. You would need to review the Auction for Salesforce documentation to discover how to do that.

Screenshot 2 and 3 are the Auction Checkout page that is part of Auctions for Salesforce.
Screenshot 4 is the Auction Checkout page after you've checked which items you want to include in the transaction, and our embedded payment form is loaded. You would then check the radio button for desired method of payment, and then manually type in the credit card info (or put the cursor into the box for the credit card number and use a USB scanner to swipe)

You then click the 'Process Payment' button at the bottom of this frame to actually run the charge and I believe this was the mishap in the process. On my screen, I had to scroll down to see the 'Process Transaction' button - so the transaction was never run.

They then clicked on 'Update Opportunities' in Step 3, which updates the Opportunties that Auctions for Salesforce created to 'Closed-Won, not Thanked', and clicked to view the Receipt, which is provided by Auctions for Salesforce regardless of whether the amount is actually received or not, as it is relying on the checkout person to have received the cash, check, or credit card info.

Good news is that some of your bidders have pre-swiped, so you will be able to charge them for their packages- but the transaction date will be when you actually process the transaction through C&P.
Bad news is that there are a few who didn't, and you will need to contact them, explain the mishap, tell them if you have any other 'cards on file' they would like to use, and if not, collect their CC info over the phone.

Some more Good News is, most of them will have cards on file if they bought their tickets online- you'll just need to verify they want it put on the same card.

When you are checking out guests, Auctions for Salesforce is relying on the data in the system to determine which items need to be paid for - you will need to determine what field is designating the items as paid, so you may need to post in the HUB Auctions for Salesforce group to ask how to 'uncheck' the items that were marked paid that weren't actually paid for, so that you can use the Auction Check-out again, this time clicking to process the transaction.

That is what I was afraid of with the processing.
So is there any way I can see how they paid (cash, check or CC)? Also where would I find the Credit card information?

Is the information anywhere in Salesforce or Click & Plege ?

How can I find the ones that we missed?

The only information that was stored was stored by Auctions for Salesforce. I imagine that it stored which Payment Method was selected before our embedded form was loaded, but you would need to see how Auctions for Salesforce stores that.
