  • Issue with referring URL, App Name, Campaign

I've recently noticed that donations through Click & Pledge have all gone to the same campaign, but the referring URL is different (examples attached). I haven't changed anything and have been trying to solve this mystery. I've noticed that in the donations that have a different URL and Campaign that the Application Form says something different. It should be picking up from the widget but seems to be picking up from the Connect Forms. How can this be remedied. It's affecting our donations.

        Good day @mmessinger

We reviewed and found that the above transactions have been processed from the Connect Form (except the one) and we discovered that you have assigned the Salesforce Campaign at Form Builder due to which all of those transactions assigned to this Campaign: Online Donations- DDA:

Order# 26895-1805280440100691420 have been processed from Widget and the SF Campaign assigned is:

Regarding the referring URL, please note that the referring URL is nothing but the URL from where the donor went to the donation page.

We found that all the above transactions have the same Campaign name (Donor Direct Action). I am not sure from where you have taken those screen shots. However, Campaign may be changed manually.

Hope that helps. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

I see what you're saying, but something seems to have happened to assign the donations to a Connect Form rather than a widget. We have all except 1 online campaign being processed through widgets and it worked in the past. How do we get the Application Form to go to the widget for all except the one campaign?

The transaction below should have been processed through the widget and it processed through the Connect Form instead, even though the widget has the correct info (widget screen capture attached):

          26895-1805290744092209298

Here are more past postings that have been processed through the widget:

          26895-1804280313331670959
          26895-1804140140130391678

Additionally, if it looks like everything is set up properly, perhaps donors are choosing to click on the DONATE button which is connected to the Connect Form rather than using the embedded form connected to the widget. Please let me know if everything looks like it's set up properly with the widgets -- we haven't changed anything and it's always worked in the past.

Let's just take each in turn:

              26895-1805290744092209298 - Referring URL: http://donordirectaction.org/activists/tni/
The referring URL specifies the page you 'embedded' on. What happened here is that this person went to http://donordirectaction.org/activists/tni/, and clicked the 'Donate' button at the top of the screen.

The link for this Donate button was collected from the Donor Direct Action campaign and was added to your website's header code(see below). If you don't want donations from this page to go to the Donor Direct Action Campaign, I suggest you remove that donate button.

I will look into the other transactions you list, to see if they are a similar situation.

                26895-1804280313331670959 - Referring URL: http://donordirectaction.org/activists/panzi/
This was processed through the widget as you said, I assume you referred to this transaction as an example that met your expectations.

                26895-1804140140130391678, 26895-1803151838211943707, and 26895-1803241337259201003 - yes, also widgets.

The difference is that the first transaction displays the referring URL for where the Donate button was published, and it happens to be the same URL where you have a widget. The donor did donate through the button link.

                Does that clarify?
