Release date: November 23, 2009
Through Twitter auto-post organizations may post a custom message to their Twitter account any time a donation is made through any of their checkout pages.
The Twitter auto-post provides two wildcard variables:
The variables will be replaced by the donor’s first name and the amount donated prior to being posted to Twitter.
Example:
&firstname donated &donation to my campaign. You can help too- http://tinyurl.com
In the above example if John donates $25 the following message will be posted to the organization's Twitter account.
John donated $25 to my compaign. You can help too- TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a tiny URL
Auto-Post also posts the following message to the Click & Pledge NOW account: click and pledge (ClicknPledgeNOW) on Twitter
John just supported http://yourOrganizationWebSite through ClickandPledge. You can help too!
We strongly recommend using URL shrinking sites such as TinyURL for shortening your organization’s web site address. Twitter has a character limit of 140 characters.
